演題:Morning larks and night owls shed light on the molecular basis for circadian timekeeping
日時:令和元年9月17日(木)10:30〜12:00
Our lives are intimately linked to Earth’s 24-hour solar cycle via genetically encoded clocks that coordinate physiology and behavior into circadian rhythms that coincide with the day/night cycle. Our lab integrates structural biology, biochemistry, cell biology and molecular dynamics to understand how clock proteins interact with one another to establish the transcription-based feedback loop that underlies circadian rhythms. Recent insights into the genetic basis of sleep phase disorders links the intrinsic period of circadian rhythms to the timing of sleep onset. I’ll describe new work that leverages insight from these morning lark and night owl alleles to define and explore important steps in circadian timekeeping.
