Single molecules, Single Cells

The characteristics of molecular and cellular research

Within humankind, everyone has their own characteristics. Human society is formed by the clustering of these diverse characteristics. This structure is analogous to the cellular or molecular field. There are many varieties of cell types such as muscle, epithelial, immune, and neuron cells. But it is not well known that a single cell has its own characteristics even within a cluster of the same cell type. The behavior of a single molecule also works the same.

Unfortunately, once we measure a group of mixed cells or molecules as a whole, the information at an individual level is lost. For the first time, newly developed technologies to investigate single cells or single molecules have revealed individualistic differences. Our goal is to contribute to the potential for personalized diagnosis, drug development and the elucidation of molecular mechanisms by applying our developed technologies.
